Barb and Eric's Visit

Last week our friends, Barb and Eric, came to visit us. Jayelle and I were able to do a lot of touring with them. Dave had some studies, but was able to get away to the highlands with Eric for a few days. Unfortunetly we don't have any pictures from his visit, but hopefully Eric will send some our way soon to pass onto you. We had a nice visit and enjoyed catching up with them! Be prepared I have put a ton of pictures on this blog!

We went to Edinburgh Castle again. . .this time the weather was much warmer and the views of the city were wonderful!

This is the one o'clock gun. We were able to see it go off this time! It is saide the gun is shot at 1 instead of 12 because the Scottish people are cheap and didn't want to waste 12 rounds.

Jaye in front of a cannon at the castle

I am not sure what she is inside of. . .but everyone takes a picture inside it at the castle.

We pass these doors every Sunday on the way to church. . .I think it is fun!

As you can read. . .Harry Potter was partially written here.

Eric's haggis pizza. He wasn't a fan.

We found these in a couple pubs around town. I haven't been in a bar in the states in some time. . .but I don't think they have a vending machine for hair straighteners there.

This is the "heart of the city". Back in the day the Scottish had to pay taxes to the English and they didn't like that. This heart was actually on the wall and the Scottish people would spit on it after they paid their tax. People still spit on it today. . .oh and also get engaged by it.

Bobby is a famous dog here for his loyalty. You will see the statue in the next picture. . .this is Jayes favorite statue around town.

Jayes first train ride. . .we went to St. Andrews.

Eric pushing Jaye around St. Andrews

Barb and I in the arches by the cathedral

St. Andrew's Cathedral, it was closed to the public that day due to "adverse weather" We thought it was a perfectly nice day to visit.

The Sea at St. Andrews

St. Andrews is home to the British Open this year. . .This is one of the club houses to St. Andrews Links.

I believe this is the 18th hole. It is right outside the "member's club house"

There is a new course and an old course and the old course is the one that the British Open will be played on.

We celebrated Barb's birthday on Wednesday by going to a cafe on the Royal Mile. . .Jayelle loved the chocolate cake.
