Hospital Trip Round Two

Yesterday Jayelle was feeling much better and we both had cabin fever so we went to the park in the afternoon. While she was slinding down the slide her Wellie (rubber boot) caught the edge of the slide and her knee hyperextended as she kept sliding. After I cuddled her I set her down to take a look at her knee, it wasn't swelling but she wouldn't stand up on it. I took her home to call the doctor for advice and was directed to go to the children's hospital. Dave wasn't home yet, but he jumped on a bus and called to get a ride from a friend to the hospital. Thank you to Stewart again for the rides! The children's hospital was like a children's museum . . .fun things to look at all over the place. . .and lots of toys. The toys would be great, but then you see all the sick kids and you don't want your child to play with them in fear that your "wee" one could get what they have. Not very sanitary. Jayelle got an xray, which came up negative for a fracture. She still is hesitant to bare weight this morning, but is walking better and better. The doctor said if she isn't walking normally in a couple days to take her in because she still may have a slight fracture in her tibia which would cause her to need a cast. So we are laying low again today on top of icing and taking pain relief meds. She is one tough kiddo. . more tears from me than her.
