Let the Adventures Begin!

Hello All! It has been a very fun filled fall for the Searights! Jayelle and I headed to Michigan while Dave headed to Scotland, and now we are together again and living in Scotland! Michigan was great fun! We had many fun outings with Grammie and Papa. We went to a zoo about an hour and half from my parents that is the closest I may ever get to an African Safari. There were loads of lions, tigers, wolves, cougars etc. And they fed the animals right in front of us by bringing out a just butchered cow on a tractor. We were up close and personal with all the animals, only two chain link fences between us. It was a lot of fun and a bit terrifying. Then we went on a color tour of the U.P., and saw the Pictured Rocks. How BEAUTIFUL! I love the U.P. in the fall. And finally we went to the Pumpkin Patch, which had all sorts of things to do including a corn maze, tractor ride, and petting farm.  Now that we are together as a family with Dave, I have been trying to get connected as much as possible. A new friend from church has been so sweet to me by giving me a tour of the city, having me over for lunch and inviting me for playdates. She has a beautiful 11month old, and it has been a blast. The other day we went to a "soft play" area in the mall which was a ton of fun and great for "wee yuns" and for Moms alike! I have been experimenting cooking with a small oven, no measuring cups, and limited ingredients. Today I went to two stores to look for chicken broth and came up empty handed. Broth in Scotland is like our Soup? I hope that I am just calling it the wrong thing and will be happily surprised when I do actually find chicken broth! Maybe my new friends will teach me these things. Learning the new language has been fun. My new favorite word is Wellies! So much better than Rubber Boots! I am trying to be a brave girl and learn the bus system and get out to see the city as much as possible. I will need to get as much knowledge as possible because I am so very excited to have our first visitor in January! Jayelle and I went for a walking tour on our own the other day, and that was good fun! Next week I will be going to Mummy's and toddlers group, with the hopes of getting more connected! And the other day we were invited to travel North to the country with a couple from the Christian Union in a couple weeks for a long weekend! All is well, and Scotland has much to offer! I have posted some pictures . . .if you scroll to the very bottom you can enjoy them in order! Cheers!
