Family Adventure

Yesterday we had a free day so we decided to take a little walking tour of a nearby town, Castle Combe.  Some of you may recognize it from the movie War Horse.  It was such a great time looking at the little town and especially the old church which dates back somewhere in the 13th Century.  It is home to England's oldest clock, and had a crusader buried there.  The town was once a Roman village.  So amazing that we live just minutes from these places.  We took a picnic lunch and enjoyed watching the fish jump in the stream.  Jaye's highlight was the unicorn cottage.  If you are planning on coming for a visit...this place will be on the list of cute places to check out.  Later that day we were invited to a birthday party of a man from our home group.  It was a Scottish Ceilidh, which if you haven't heard of it you must check it out and you must give it a go!  I loved the fact any age person can join in the mix!

 stained glass windows!

Jayelle was very interested in the tombs, she had never seen above ground tombs before.

Just love this little cottage door!
