Transition
I know I have been MIA when it comes to blogging since I left Scotland. Many factors have made me distant from writing. The first main reason for not blogging was the lack of a computer for the first 5 months. I was only checking emails and the occasional FB message at David's office. The second reason was the obvious. . .two kids. And the third main reason was that I just found writing difficult after leaving Scotland. I was loving my life in Stanfield, but I did miss my home and friends dearly in Scotland. Not that I was depressed or lonely because I wasn't . . .it was just hard. It took me a good portion of the year last year to find fun activities for kids and great friends to share them with in Scotland, and now I was starting over. Stanfield is wonderful. We have a church that is welcoming and concerned for each other as a family should be. Much like the church we had in Scotland. So I am on a mission to find fun things to do for Moms of young kiddos. And perhaps I will have to create those things and that type of community. Today I went to a lactation support group at the local hospital . . .Everett is not having difficulty feeding at all, but I did it to meet other ladies. I was thankful for the invite from a new gal at our church. So there is a start to that. I also attend two different library reading groups for toddlers, which Jayelle loves. We have many great new friends who happen to be in different life stages than us and that has been wonderful! Beyond things to do for Moms we are really loving Dave's position at the church. The teens are a blast, and we are seeing Holy Spirit work His hand in many of their lives. So transition has been good and our new house has been a blessing lots more space and great neighbors too! People ask me how do I like Stanfield compared to Scotland. . .and my response is "I love Stanfield, I get to see David more than I ever did because he works two minutes away and the community is so wonderful and the sunshine is perfect! But Scotland was like I opened my eyes and realized I just had the most wonderful dream that came true! Praise be to God who has given our family such amazing ministries and friends all over the world! (in the next blogs I will post some pictures I never got around to posting and some new ones from this weekend)
