Birthday Time of Year

Birthday's all around for our family.  Jayelle turned 2, Dave turned 30, and I turned 29 recently.  We enjoyed spending time with our friends and family on and around our birthday.  Highlights were movies with friend for both Dave and I, dinners out, picnics in the park, birthday cake and of course London/ Edinburgh family visit.  On Jayelle's birthday she helped me make her birthday cake.  We had fun making a mess in the kitchen.  I think we went through four outfits that afternoon.  I will have to get her an apron.  All day long Jayelle wouldn't let me sing her "Happy Birthday," and when I asked her how old she was she refused to say "2," but when the cake came out she was all about singing and saying she was "2." She blew out the candles before we could sing so we had to relight and sing again. . .actually I had bought the relighting candles so it was fun to blow them out a bunch.  When it came time to cut the cake Jayelle started crying when I tried to slice in. . . .turns out that a birthday cake on your birthday is a gift for you (Dave and I had to actually ask permission from her to share her birthday cake).  It makes sense now that I think about it.
