Stirling

Another one of our trips was to Stirling.  Stirling is where William Wallace's most famous battle took place (Battle of Stirling Bridge), for those Braveheart fans.  But we didn't go to the Walace Monument (however it is large enough that we could see it from afar.) We did go to Stirling Castle and it was so beautiful.  The weather was fantastic, and we happened to go on a very special day. . .the Queen's birthday!  So the military was there with their bands to give a 21 gun salute to the Queen.  It was so fun to witness!  The castle was much much prettier than Edinburgh's.  We also went to a local church where James the VI and I was crowned.  The church is still running today!  Hopefully I can get my videos downloaded so you can hear the bands. . .the bagpipes made me want to march!
The battle of the bands!

The gun salute!

Like I said  . . . so beautiful!

William Wallace Monument!

Robert the Bruce

The highlight of all the trips was the choo choo for Jayelle.  .  .she asks every morning if we are going on a choo choo today, and if I say "no" then it is bus? car?

  Walking in Stirling
